New trojan is blocking file sharing sites

January 10th, 2009 by Andreas from Xavier Media

A new trojan called Troj/Qhost-AC is blocking access to file sharing sites like The Pirate Bay, Mininova and Suprbay. The trojan is said to be a keygen to unlock pirated software and when it’s installed on the computer
it’s changing the host file in Windows to redirect some file sharing sites to the local computer itself. That way the user can’t access any of these sites any more and whenever someone tries a message is displayed saying
that file sharing is wrong.

The trojan is deteced by most antivirus softwares with the latest updated virus information.
