Windows Vista a virus?

October 24th, 2008 by Andreas from Xavier Media

This Monday McAfee released an update of their antivurs software that by
accident classified a file in Windows Vista as a trojan. The supposed
trojan should steal the users password according to the incorrect
information from McAfee and some users may have gotten the file ”conime.exe” deleted from their Windows Vista computers :( .

McAfee noticed their misstake almost immediately and released a new update,
but some users may have gotten the file deleted or put in quaranteen
depending on their settings. They haven’t so far released any information
on how to get the deleted file back since it will affect the stability of
Windows Vista if not present.
